Dance in China has a very long history. Records show dancing appeared almost 4,000 years ago in China.
Chinese folk dancing commonly incorporates handkerchiefs, bells, drums, stilts, fans, swords, ribbons and masks to accent the dance movements.
This Experience Chinese Folk Dance class is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. Participants will be introduced to Chinese Folk Dance and learn how to appreciate this ancient form of performance art.
In this class, our teacher will demonstrate the moves of a few types of Chinese Folk Dance.
Afterwards, participants can follow and learn the basic moves of the Chinese Silk Ribbon Dance and Waist Drum Dance.
All dancing tools are provided. Class is free and open to the public (ages 9 and up)!
